Tasmanian oak is generally light t with some dark browns and pinkish hues in appearance although consider being hardwood it tends to be on the soft side when compared with other hardwood species. It has a generally straight grain with the occasional board displaying some fiddle back. 

Many homes in Cleveland, Birkdale and the Redlands have Tasmanian Oak installed with the current trend to refinish using impact oil with trend colours to enhance the wide grains.
